Past Travels

 I'm reminiscing about my trips in April and May to New Zealand and Baja. 

I'll post the second trip to Baja in a week or so. 

This was a trip to teach at Fibre Arts New Zealand and visiting my brother and sister-in-law. 

First a visit to Auckland Botanical Garden

Next stop to Whanganui to teach for Fibre Arts New Zealand

This was an extraordinary adventure and opportunity for me. I taught a weeklong Book Arts workshop for some very lovely students. Tea times were included each day..a new experience for me!

a retreat with Lynn Leahy, Katherine England, and Helen Shafer Garcia

This will be our 11th year holding the retreat. We are so excited to return  October 30 - November 7. Here are some details of the project we'll create! This is a substantial piece constructed of paper, cloth, sculpture Apoxy Sculpt, beads, buttons, milagros,  ribbons, acrylic paint, stamps, water-soluble pens and pencils....

at the ranch

 I teach several times a year at an off the grid ranch called Rancho Bellota in Baja, Mexico. I absolutely love going to chill, relax, hike, paint and party. I returned a couple of weeks ago and will return in September. Join us....

This is the way I describe it.....

This will be a grand opportunity for you to explore the native habitat at the ranch along with horseback riding, relaxing in the pool, Margaritas brought to you while painting on location, wine tastings at wineries in the beautiful Guadalupe Valley, candlelight dinners....sign up here

Ellen Parry heads up the Art Workshops at the ranch. She is an amazing gal who runs each workshop in a great, fun way. She coordinated to have the PBS show "Crossing South" come to the ranch and film us in action. It's my claim to fame! Watch it here!

Raul and Caroline Aguiar own the ranch and are dedicated to preservation and keeping the ranch off the grid. The stars are amazing at night while we sit by the campfire. The ranch is 2800 acres with about 30 horses free ranging the hillsides. A truly beautiful place to be.

Painting on location, horseback riding, hiking, wine tasting, tequila tastings,

 margaritas, yummy home cooked meals, cosy cabins,

 safe transportation from the border....need I say more?
