Block Prints!

I'm obsessed! I'll admit it ....I absolutely love to design and carve stamps. There is something so relaxing and satisfying about it. The process of carving is somewhat like sculpting so to speak.... and I do love to sculpt in clay. Think of the possibilities! I use my stamps for collage, clay works, Fabric printing, and if I could tattoo myself with them I would! Ha....hummm....

So..the Big News! My latest online Class Block Prints and Watercolor is up and running! Now you can learn how to carve into a soft block material that can be reused for years to come.

And...there is a 10% discount till October 23, 2022. Use BLOCKPRINT10 at purchase.

Agave Continuum

I'm very pleased to announce that "Agave Continuum", a fiber work, has received first place in the Fiber and Book Arts Exhibition at Municipal Gallery, Escondido, CA.

The reception will be held Saturday, October 8 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm

This installation is based on the continuance of beauty with decay. The woven sections were stitched with waxed linen threads using hues that represent the plant when it was growing.

I also have 2 other works in the Exhibition. As well as a work in the Save the Ocean Art and Poetry Exhibit in the same gallery. Scroll down for details!

Oregon Coast Quest

I recently taught 2 workshops in Oregon at the Sitka Center for Arts and Ecology. I had never traveled to that area and I was so delighted to be invited. The Center has been in this location since the 70's, deep in the woods along the coast north of Lincoln City.

The students were a delight, the staff beyond helpful and friendly, and the ambiance exceptional...I hope to return next year to teach in this wondrous place.

I also traveled to points north for a few days. So nice and cold and windy vs. my home. It was over 100 degrees while I was away. I planned it well.

Till next year......

Get the lead out!

My Grandmother used to say "Get the lead out" ...when I didn't write my thank you notes in a timely matter. So typical of me because I just wanted to draw, paint, and make stuff out of clay. So...with that in mind....

It's Time to get a kick start on Creativity.

Its Time to give your self the freedom to draw and paint just for you. Your own private lessons.

My 3 Online courses are on Sale till August 28th at midnight.

Fall Workshops in Oregon

My September Workshops are in Oregon and are fast approaching at Sitka Center for  Arts and Ecology. September 1 and 2.

Strata Botanica is sold out but Watermedia Riverside Painting has additional room for you to join up!

This is the first time I will teaching at the Center and I was thrilled to be asked. I've never toured the wild Oregon coast so this will be a treat. Plus, I'll be teaching at this beautiful Center in the forest.

 Travel Dream Vessels

My new Installations at Fallbrook Center for the Arts opens tonight 4:30 to 6:30pm for the annual Guild Exhibition. All sales will go through the center. Please contact them for interest in a work...or two! On the home page you will also see my Totem which took a year to create.

June 11 to July 10

This fleet of 8 vessels was created during the time of Covid. These characters have waiting years to travel which is their passion. They are finally off to a new adventure, traveling together, to points of interest and following their dreams.

2. Captain Elizabeth Jordan.  Her crew of wanderers, star gazers, and farmers, are hoping to  find love, abundant good food, and honest to goodness storytelling. This is the largest ship in the fleet, holding  a multitude of travelers.

    $600.00 SOLD

 3. Amelia, protector of the port flank. Amelia  not only holds this important job, but she yearns to travel to distant shores and obtain treasures for her collections. Her trusty horse, Rusty, leads the  ship through unknown waters.
    $400.00.
  1. Scout Navigator John Edward. He leads the Fleet towards magnificent adventures to faraway lands. In the 1980’s, he scouted and settled in faraway Aotearoa for a long period of time. This new adventure will surely bring him to points of land unseen for years. This calls for travel of an exploratory nature.

      $250.00.

 4. Consuela, Maria, and Edith are free spirit sisters who consulted their elders, seeking their visions and advice on the most exotic destination they could imagine.  Their ship pulls up the starboard  side. The three sisters have concluded that this journey will be a discovery of wondrous things and places, with extraordinary finds.

     $400.00

  6. Lady Nancy Laurel carries her brood in a warm, soft blanket of her design.  Her youngsters are very excited to travel and have been heard to say throughout the journey, “ Oh, the air!”, chirping with glee. The youngsters are very content to travel with their Mummy.

 $275.00

  5. Brothers Henry and Godwin are serious minded engineers. They will use their creative thinking skills for innovative designs when they land at their new settlement. Godwin is  unsure of Henry’s ability to navigate.  They have not decided the length of  their stay. $250.00.  SOLD

  7. Master James speeds along on his “Blue Fish Special” and herds the back of the fleet, by scouting and looking out for unexpected encounters.  His exceptional skills in communicating in different languages is a much needed asset for traveling.

    $375

 8. Sir Robert also herds and rounds up the smaller boats in the fleet with an exuberant flair. He rides along with his fish companions, and often contemplates the parts of the world yet to be explored.
