Margaret

My dear friend Margaret passed away yesterday. She battled cancer for over a year. It was a brave fight. We shared many, many adventures together and I  especially have fond remembrance about our weekly hikes and trips throughout southern CA. Treasure your time with loved ones. Live the moment and create. I feel honored that I opened new creative avenues for Magaret over the years.....she was a talented wood worker, painter, and book artist.

this is the same spot where I painted Margaret last year. My friend Karin and I hiked up the peak yesterday and made a rock monument for Margaret. As I took the photo facing the sun a ray of light came through...I'm sure it was her in that light......

Ann and Margaret painting along the trail

Ann told us about "list poems". We would sit a spell along the trail, paint, write our poems
and eat our treats......

Helen- I can only hope that in my life I will have a friend that writes a cherished post for me half as lovely when I pass. This is beautiful - I'm so sorry for your loss, but how wonderful to have had such a friendship. Peace. Evelyn ashley

Lovely memories of friendship. The most powerful art is filled with emotion. I am sending you peace and harmony while you are in this process. Toni Hanson

I'm sorry for the loss of such a cherished friend. It can be hard to loose such a lovely part of our lives and I think that leaving the rock monument was a lovely way to remember and celebrate her life. Love you Helen, keep strong. - Victoria Harsch <3

So sorry for your loss, Helen. Cancer is such a bitch! You were blessed to have such a good friend and what a way to have your memories documented in art. Sending you love and light and for her family as well. Blessings. Virginia

Thank you all for commenting....its been a hard couple of weeks....the service was yesterday and I gave a talk about her. Hard to do but I'm so glad I could tell everyone about her spirit for living. By the way...I saw another sign from her on the way home...a little bird cloud in the sky.....
